Babies
3 weeks to 5 months
The gentlest introduction to water for newborns and very young babies.
Our youngest baby programme is designed for very young babies from 3 weeks to 5 months. Sessions are calm, gentle, and always with a parent in the water. The focus is entirely on water familiarisation, sensory exploration, and building a positive first relationship with the pool, at a pace that suits your baby. This class is free; only the annual registration fee applies.

How long are sessions?
Sessions are 30 minutes. This is the ideal length for very young babies: enough time for meaningful water experience without overstimulating them.
Is it safe to bring a very young baby into the pool?
Yes. Our pool is heated to 32–34°C and maintained to the highest hygiene standards. Sessions are gentle and always parent-led. This class is suitable from 3 weeks of age, and we recommend your baby has had their first health check before their first session.
What happens during a session for such a young baby?
Sessions are calm and unhurried. You will hold your baby throughout, gently moving through the water together. There is no pressure to submerge or rush any milestone. We follow each baby's pace completely.
How much does this class cost?
This baby class is free. Only the annual R100 registration fee applies. There is no monthly lesson fee for babies aged 3 weeks to 5 months.

Building water confidence through play and parent-and-baby bonding.
For older babies, lessons become more playful and exploratory. With greater physical development, babies in this age group can begin to kick, splash, and engage more actively with the water. Sessions remain parent-assisted and focus on building genuine water confidence through fun, repetition, and positive reinforcement.

What if my baby is nervous around water?
Absolutely. Many babies are apprehensive at first. Our instructor is patient and experienced with anxious little ones. We never rush or force any activity. Confidence builds naturally with positive, consistent exposure.

2–17 years
From first floats to confident strokes. Structured swimming for every child.
Our Learn to Swim programme takes children from their very first independent water experience through to competent, confident swimming. We cover all the fundamentals: floating, kicking, arm strokes, breathing technique, and water safety. Children are grouped by ability rather than age to ensure every lesson is appropriately challenging and rewarding.

- ✓Freestyle (front crawl) and backstroke technique

- ✓Diving, tumble turns, and swimming endurance

Common Questions
How long are sessions?
Learn to Swim sessions are 15 minutes. The focused, shorter format keeps children engaged and ensures every minute in the water is productive.
My child has never swum before. Where do they start?
We assess each child individually before placing them in the appropriate group. Complete beginners are very welcome. We start right from the basics and progress at each child's own pace.
Will my child learn water safety?
Yes. Water safety is integrated throughout the entire programme, not just swimming technique. Every child learns to respect and respond safely to water.

Our adult programme welcomes complete beginners through to swimmers wanting to refine their technique. Adult lessons run as small group classes in a non-judgmental and supportive environment where adult learners of all abilities can progress at their own pace, whether the goal is water confidence, fitness, or pure enjoyment.

Adult sessions are 30 minutes, enough time for meaningful technique work and progression without fatigue.
I am a complete non-swimmer. Is that okay?
Absolutely. Many of our adult learners start with zero swimming experience. Our instructor is patient, experienced, and non-judgmental, and we go at whatever pace feels right for you.
Are adult lessons group or private?
Adult lessons run as small group classes. You will learn alongside other adults in a supportive, non-judgmental environment, with the instructor giving attention to each swimmer.
