Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before your first lesson.

Getting Started

What age can my child start swimming lessons?

We welcome babies from 3 weeks. We offer two baby programmes: one for 3 weeks to 5 months and one for 6–24 months, plus Learn to Swim for children aged 2–17 years and adult lessons for 18 and older. The youngest baby class (3 weeks to 5 months) is free; only the annual registration fee applies. The earlier children are introduced to water, the more naturally they tend to develop water confidence.

Do I need to do anything before our first lesson?

Contact us to discuss your child's age and current swimming ability. We will place your child in the appropriate programme. For the first lesson, arrive a few minutes early, bring appropriate swim wear, and goggles if you have them.

What should we bring to lessons?

Bring a swimsuit or swimming costume, goggles (optional but recommended), a towel, and a water bottle. For babies, bring swim nappies. No boardshorts or shorts for structured lessons.

How do I know which programme is right for my child?

Contact us and we will assess your child's current ability and comfort in the water. We group swimmers by ability, not age, to ensure the best learning environment.

Lessons & Attendance

How long are the lessons?

Lesson duration varies by programme. Baby sessions (3 weeks to 5 months and 6–24 months) are 30 minutes. Learn to Swim sessions are 15 minutes. Adult sessions are 30 minutes.

How many learners are in each class?

We keep class sizes small to ensure each swimmer receives personal attention and faster progress. Class size depends on the programme and age group.

How often are lessons?

Lessons are typically held once per week per learner. Frequency and scheduling will be confirmed at enrolment based on available slots.

What happens if my child misses a lesson?

Please contact us as soon as possible if you cannot attend. We will discuss make-up lesson options on a case-by-case basis.

Are lessons available year-round?

Yes. Our indoor heated pool allows us to offer lessons throughout the year, regardless of the weather or season.

How much do lessons cost?

How do I pay?

Payment is via EFT (bank transfer). Monthly fees are due at the start of each month. Bank details and payment references will be provided at enrolment.

How much notice do I need to give if we want to stop lessons?

What if my child is afraid of the water?

Many children and adults come to us with a fear of water. Our instructor is experienced and patient in working with anxious learners. We never rush or force. We build confidence gradually at each swimmer's own pace.
